Reality is that in spite of our disgust and disdain, we are all broken people. . . all capable of committing atrocities, approving of atrocities, and looking the other way as atrocities are committed. Don’t forget that this all happened only some seventy years ago. . . in the civilized West.
Francis Bacon said that “histories make men wise.” I hope we have learned. I hope we are people of wisdom.
